Now that Veterans Day has come and gone, we want to make sure we honor and celebrate our heroes every day of the year. That’s why we set up programs to support the men and women of the armed forces all year long.

Recycled Rides®:

For many veterans, the transition to civilian life has challenges. Things most people take for granted, like having reliable transportation for work, medical appointments and taking the kids to school, can be a real hardship for them. That’s why we team up with our insurance partners to participate in the National Auto Body Council’s Recycled Rides® program. Since 2012, our teammates have donated their spare time to restore over 350 vehicles and gift them to deserving veterans and families. It’s our way of bringing a little more freedom to our military heroes.

Military Combine:

We believe our military service men and woman can also be heroic on the football field. That’s why we celebrate their talents by teaming up with the Dallas Cowboys for our annual Military Combine. Active duty men and women run the same drills as the NFL combine while friends, family and fans cheer along. The winning male and female contestants even get to announce a Dallas Cowboys draft pick live. This event also serves as a place to connect transitioning military service members with military non-profit programs and employment opportunities. While every year is exciting and inspirational, stay tuned to see how we’re going to make the 2020 event bigger and better.

Changing Lanes:

Another roadblock veterans often face upon returning home is finding a job. That’s why Caliber created our Changing Lanes program. It’s a no-cost, 18-week training program that prepares military service members for a career in the auto body industry. All graduates receive a $12,000 Snap-On tool set. Plus, we actively look for job placement opportunities at our locations around the US. It just so happens that Caliber is a natural fit for veterans since our values are closely aligned with those of the military.

By the end of 2019, we expect to have 231 graduates between our three training facilities in Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Carson, CO; and Fort Hood, TX. We’re honored to have these heroes on our team and look forward to all of the lives we’ll restore together.

American Airlines Sky Ball:

We’re also honored to be a sponsor of the American Airlines Sky Ball for the fourth year in a row. This premier fundraising gala benefits the Airpower Foundation, one of the oldest military support organizations in the US. Every year during the event, we surprise veterans with restored vehicles as part of the NABC’s Recycled Rides® program. At the 2019 gala, we gifted four vehicles to deserving families, our highest total yet.

We’re forever indebted to the sacrifices of our military service members. And from the bottom of our hearts, we thank every Caliber teammate who served. We will continue to support you, and your fellow veterans in any way we can.
